Established in 1963, the Kingscliff Boardriders Club is a community club with family at heart.
The club has enjoyed windows of success during their fifty-seven years with a host of notable names including 80s and 90s champions, Alby Ross, Trevor Gleave, along with the Bevan Brothers (Dean and Shane) carved into their honour board.
More recently the club’s junior surfers have led the way, performing with distinction at events along the east coast and the club is equally committed to developing the stars of the future, while also embracing the freedom, fun and fitness that is recreational surfing.
By striving to create a friendly and fun environment for their members, Kingscliff BRC also created an environmental conducive to high performance, and their recent results speak for themselves.
The club has a proactive junior development program, which provides support to developing riders, allowing them to maximise their potential.
Like many Boardriders clubs, team Kingscliff is looking forward to the return of competition surfing and competing in the inaugural Usher Cup.
While many clubs are yet to finalise their line-ups, Kingscliff have announced their team for the January event.
Representing the Kingscliff Boardriders Club at the 2020 Usher Cup will be Brad King, Mitch James, Cali Barrett (female competitor) and 2018 Aussie champ, Micah Margieson.
The inaugural Usher Cup will be held at Duranbah and Snapper rocks from the 29th to the 31st of January, 2021.
