Chris and his wife Courtney both run the organisation and utilise Kumul Group as a vehicle to give back to the community as well as daily business operations. Kumul Group is affiliated with the Usher Group and Usher Love – an initiative that aims to give back to the community and create events like the Usher Cup, which is why Chris wanted to get behind this event and support Usher and his good friend Theo.
Chris, being an ex-professional sportsperson emphasised the importance of supporting grassroots sporting in Australia.
“Growing up I played in many carnivals and this is the equivalent to a grassroots rugby league carnival where you get to showcase the best of the, so for me it was a no brainer. I know how hard these young kids can do it if there’s no prize money or if they don’t have sponsorship and contracts to fall back on, they’ve got to work 24/7, so to be given that opportunity to showcase themselves with such an awesome initiative from Theo and the gang at Usher Group is pretty special to be a part of.” Walker Said.
